Ride to Conquer Cancer – June 10, 2023

Date of Event: June 10, 2023

Times: 6:30 am to 10:30 am

Formation Area: Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place, Lot 2. Opening Ceremonies will begin at 8:20 am

Road Closure Locations:

  • Lake Shore Blvd W (westbound lanes), from Strachan Ave to Windermere Ave
  • Windermere Ave (northbound lanes including one through lane and left-turn lane in the southbound lane), from Lakeshore Blvd W to The Queensway
  • The Queensway (westbound curb lane), from Windermere Ave to The West Mall
  • The West Mall (northbound curb lane), from The Queensway to Burnhamthorpe Rd
  • Burnhamthorpe Rd (westbound curb lane), from The West Mall to Etobicoke Creek

Cycling Route: Cycling starts at 9:00 am

  • Cyclists will exit Exhibition Place from Ontario Dr onto Lake Shore Blvd W. Head west along Lake Shore Blvd W (westbound lanes) to Windermere Ave. North on Windermere Ave (all northbound lanes including one through lane and left-turn lane in the southbound lane) to The Queensway. West on The Queensway (westbound curb lane) to The West Mall. North on The West Mall (northbound curb lane) to Burnhamthorpe Rd E. West on Burnhamthorpe Rd (westbound curb lane) to Etobicoke Creek (the end of the Etobicoke boundary, at which time Peel Regional Police will assist with the cyclists)

NOTE:

  • One westbound lane on Lake Shore Blvd West from Parkside Dr to Ellis Ave must be kept open for TTC access
  • Emergency lane will be the southernmost westbound lane on Lake Shore Blvd West

Toronto Challenge 5K Run/Walk and 1K Walk – June 11, 2023

  • Start line on Armoury St, east of University Ave

  • North on University Ave (northbound lanes) to Elm St
  • Turn around at Elm St
  • South on University Avenue (northbound curb lane and sidewalk on the east side of the street)
  • East on Armoury St to Chestnut St
  • South to Nathan Phillips Square to the Finish Line on the Square.

5K Route: See Map

  • North on University Ave (northbound lanes) to Queen’s Park
  • At Queen’s Park, move to the northbound lanes of Queen’s Park Crescent E and proceed north to the top of Queen’s Park Circle
  • North on Queen’s Park to Bloor St W
  • East on Bloor St W (south lane) to Bay St
  • South on Bay St (west curb lane) to Queen St W
  • West on Queen St W to University Ave
  • Turn around before University Ave and return East on Queen St W
  • Enter Nathan Phillips Square from the south to the Finish Line on the Square

  • Lake Shore Blvd (full road), from Windemere Ave. to the west side of Bathurst
  • Maintain curb lane on Lake Shore Blvd West for traffic between British Columbia Dr, west to Gardiner Expressway West access ramp
  • Maintain eastbound curb lane access from Windemere Ave to Oarsman Dr Eastbound
  • Maintain access to Ontario Place from Stadium Rd to Ontario Place Parking Lot 1

10k Race Route: (Times: 7:30 am to 9:45 am)

  • Start on Lake Shore Blvd W, west of Ontario Dr westbound lanes
  • Runners proceed west on Lake Shore Blvd W to Ellis Ave (full road)
  • Runners will make a U-turn at Ellis Dr and head back east in the eastbound lanes of Lake Shore Blvd W to Stadium Rd
  • Runners will then make a U-turn at Fort York Blvd and head west in the westbound lanes of Lake Shore Blvd W to the east of New Brunswick Way (finish line)

800m Kids Race: (Times: 9:45 am to 10:15 am)

  • Start & Finish on Lake Shore Blvd W, west of Ontario Dr westbound lanes
  • Route: Head east in the westbound Lake Shore lanes to New Brunswick Way and turnaround and go back to the start/finish

  • Lake Shore Boulevard West (eastbound curb lane), from Budapest Lane to New Brunswick Way/Remembrance Drive
